Chakras
Where are Chakras?
A silly question you may think? Well, no not really, the only real concept we have is of the physical body and at most a basic understanding of auras.
The body is made up of seven body layers, although we are only really ever aware of our physical body, unless you take that step to explore yourselves in more depth. Each layer has a connection to the physical body via one of the seven chakras. These levels are physical, etheric, astral, lower mental, higher mental and buddhic and atmic.
The Etheric body surrounds the physical body, and follows its contours fairly well, this body layer is the interface between the astral planes and mental planes into the physical body. The energy from the astral planes and mental planes are at a higher frequency than the physical plane. Without a slowing down of these energies as they permeate the physical body, the actual physical matter would be made to vibrate with such speed, the matter would disintegrate and burn.
The Chakra System - An Overview
This is a system of seven major and numerous minor energy transformers which are conical in nature and located in the etheric layer of the body a vertical axis from the base of the spine to the top of the head. The minor energy transformers include those in the palms and feet to name a few.
There function is to store karma and activating them allows karma to be burnt up. I feel that this is the single most important thing that you need to know about chakras. I will brief you about each center and then describe aids to activate and remove the karma stored in them. Once this has occured you will find that life is easy, easy as a sunday morning...
Chakra is the Sanskrit word for wheel and is primarily a Hindu concept, however many other traditions have similar concepts but use different terminology. Each vortex is intimately linked with each other via a nerve system called Nadis. The main Nadi is called the Sushumna and goes striaght up the spine from base to top of the head, and two intertwinning nadi's called the Ida and Pingala. These criss-cross through each chakra and have a balancing effect.
These chakras are found within the aura, where different environments (from the different bodies above) are brought together and form cone shaped energy wheels.
Chakras are an integral part of the ancient Hindu system of yoga.
Chakras are considered to be the opening to dimensions in their own right with associated colours, planets and properties. These will be discussed in detail at each chakra level starting at the
seven chakras.
