Companies and corporatations, you have the staff who bring the most value to your company, and they work hard long hours often sacrificing family life and a social life in order to ensure that deliverables and targets are met within scope and to budget. All this is done in order to do well, not only personally and professionally but also to bring credit and prestige to the company. And I am speaking from experience as a consultant in a top five consulting firm in the UK. I would not want to work for any of the other companies...urgh
However, I am also aware of the issues around morale that can exist in such firms. Is more money always the answer, surprisingly not! Now does valuing your staff mean getting a BUPA health plan, maybe but so what all major corporations provide some form of health cover. But how (and if you really think about this, you will be amazed at the potential) about being not one but ten steps ahead of the competition.
